How we use cookies:

Cookies and logging of IP addresses may be used to enable us to monitor site traffic and repeat visitor statistics. We may use both session cookies, which expire when you close your browser and persistent cookies, which stay on your browser until deleted. This is so we can provide you with a more personalised experience from Atlantic Drift. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify any individual. Such information is anonymous and held on a temporary basis.

Third party providers such as google and stripe which may provide services also set cookies. Our website may also contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

This Privacy Policy describes how and when we collect, use, and share information when you make a purchase from our shop, book a workshop through our website, contact us, or otherwise use our services through this website.

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order), if you contact me directly.

When booking a workshop though our website, you must provide us with certain information such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the retreat you are booking. You may also choose to provide us with additional personal information through completing any fact-finding questionnaires.

We rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

  • As needed to provide our services, such as when we use your information to confirm your booking, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;

  • When you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time, such as by signing up for our mailing list;

  • If necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchase if required by tax law; and as necessary for the purpose of our legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as providing and improving our services. We use your information to provide the services you requested and in our legitimate interest to improve our services.

Information about our customers is important to us. We share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

  • Service providers. We engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services, such as delivery companies, google and merchant accounts. We will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.

  • Compliance with laws. We may collect, use, retain, and share your information if we have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce our agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of our customers, or others.

We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity and in accordance with legal requirements. We really appreciate it if you let us know if your contact details change.

When your information is no longer required, we will ensure it is disposed of in a secure manner.

If you ask us to stop sending you information, we will keep a record of your contact details and appropriate information to enable us to comply with your request not to be contacted by us.

Your Rights:

You have a right to ask us to stop processing your personal data, and you have a right to ask to access your personal data and to obtain certain information.

If there are any discrepancies in the information we provide, please let us know and we will correct them. If you want to access your information, send a description of the information you want to see by email to the address below.  We will then ask you to prove your identity before proceeding with your request. All enquiries will be completed within 30 days of the original request.

In some circumstances, such as when the data is no longer required or if the use of the data has no legal justification, you have the right to have that data erased, as well as the right to object to our handling of your data. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time when we rely on consent as a legal ground to justify our handling of your personal data. This would not affect the lawfulness of anything done before consent is withdrawn but it would stop us from continuing to use the relevant information.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office about how we manage your data.

Changes to our privacy policy:

Our privacy notice may be updated at any time, so please check it from time to time. We may, for example, change the way we process your information, or there may be a change in law. If we make any significant changes to this notice, we will show this clearly on our website. This notice was last updated in Aug 2024.
